Reading this post at Captains Quarters gave me a huge feeling of deja vu. Captain Ed's wife, a kidney/pancreas transplant recipient like my late brother, is dealing with a viral attack on her donated kidney, again similar to Paul. This comes as a result of the immunosuppressive nature of anti-rejection drugs, and is a catch-22 situation for getting the virus without hurting the donated organs. I can relate to the concern, worry and stress. I do believe she'll be OK, for a variety of reasons. Medical technology has advanced, for one. My brother had renal cell cancer and most likely had a far weaker threshold of health. But until everything is confirmed OK, this is an ordeal.
I have never solicited the prayers or kind intentions of my readers, but in this case I would ask you, in whatever way you do, to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I have been through this, and I'd really like to see somebody lick this thing.
As one who's solicited prayers from fellow bloggers like yourself, I'm more than happy to return the request.
